It is generated from Krio.kicad_pcb and the ordering BOM by docs/gen-bom.py — plain Python, no KiCad — so it regenerates on every documentation build, including in CI. Outlined parts are on the board but not fitted: do-not-populate and excluded footprints, which the BOM itself does not list.

Every line carries an LCSC part number, so nothing gets substituted silently at assembly. If a line ever appears without one, JLCPCB will try to match it by manufacturer part number or by value — worth catching before you place an order rather than afterwards.

Where the files come from

fab/generate_jlcpcb.sh produces the upload package, including the machine-readable BOM and the pick-and-place file:

The view above joins the board’s own geometry to that CSV, so a part that exists in one and not the other shows up rather than going quietly missing.

The BOM is built by fab/make_bom.py, which expands designator ranges and merges rows split by a missing LCSC field — both because JLCPCB’s uploader rejects the job otherwise. See fabrication for the order settings and the two specifications that push the board past the standard tier.
